empower® licencing & activation

Lite & Full (PC) licensing

The activation process for empower® Full and empower® Lite involves installing a license key file on the user’s device following a successful software installation. When Microsoft PowerPoint is launched and activation is completed successfully, the licensing server securely applies the appropriate encrypted license credentials for each authorised product to the user’s machine.

For users who begin their empower® Express Lite journey via the 30-day free trial, a License Converter Tool will be provided once payment has been received. This tool must be run on the user’s machine to convert the trial installation into a fully licensed version of empower® Lite.

For empower® Full, users are required to sign in to their account at least once every 30 days. Upon successful authentication, a 30-day login token is generated, allowing users to remain signed in without needing to re-authenticate during that period.

For organisations with multiple users, access can be centrally managed through the empower Express Entra ID environment. If a user’s access needs to be revoked, removing that user from the relevant Entra ID group will automatically revoke their access to empower® and the empower® Library.

Slides for Mac (Mac) licensing

Activation and licensing for empower® Slides for Mac is managed through Microsoft Azure Entra ID authentication. User access is secured using the individual’s first name, last name, and email address.

For users with a business (B2B) email domain, their existing corporate email account can typically be used to access empower® Slides for Mac, as well as empower® Full on Windows devices.

For users registering with personal (B2C) email addresses such as iCloud, Gmail, Yahoo, or similar providers, an @empower-express.com account may be provisioned and secured within the empower Express Azure Entra ID tenant. For these managed accounts, empower Express administers the credentials and can reset or restore access when required.

For all other business-managed (B2B) accounts using company-owned domains, empower Express does not have access to user passwords and cannot reset or refresh credentials. Password management for these accounts remains under the control of the customer’s internal IT administrator. If a password reset or account access update is required, users will need to contact their organisation’s IT support team.
