empower® Express disaster recovery policy

Whilst you can store any material in your empower® Library,  it is primarily designated for template and marketing materials. 

First and foremost, it is imperative to ensure that clients do not intend to store mission-critical data within the empower library, thereby relying on its constant availability in all circumstances. In our corporate environment, the empower library is primarily designated for template and marketing materials. Business-critical data should be stored in alternative locations, such as OneDrive or local networks. That being said, the library is also designed to be offline available so users can select any library folder(s) and cache them locally ensuring that this content is available on the local machine and does not rely on network access

Regarding Disaster Recovery (DR) in the context of empower® Express, there are three tiers to explain:

  1. empower Express uses Microsoft Azure for cloud hosting. Microsoft Azure possesses robust DR capabilities supported by numerous certifications which can be found on the Microsoft website.
  2. empower GmbH (German corporation) is the developer and owner of the empower® software and operates the cloud environment from a technical side. empower GmbH, has a prepared DR capability which complies with their ISO 27001 certification.
  3. Right Aligned Limited acts as reseller of empower® for empower GmbH, performs Customizing and Support, and operates the cloud environment from a functional side. Right Aligned does not have direct access to empower data and does not have a formalized DR policy but operates in multiple offices in multiple locations thereby reducing any DR disruption risk.
