How to log-out of empower Sync and sign-in with a different log-in
You may have been assigned a temporary empower account when you signed up. This article will explain how to log-out of an empower account and sign in with another.

Or follow these step-by-step process (with accompanying video)
1. Close Empower Sync completely 0:00
- Open the Empower Sync app from the system tray or wherever it is running.
- Click the gear/cog icon.
- Choose Exit to fully close the application.
- Optional check: open Task Manager and confirm Empower Sync is no longer running.
2. Remove the saved Windows credential 0:51
- Open Credential Manager by searching for "CREN" in Windows search.
- Go to Windows Credentials.
- Find the generic credential that starts with
Neo.Empower. - Click the entry and select Remove.
- This is important because leaving it in place may cause Empower Sync to reopen your previous session automatically.
3. Relaunch Empower Sync 1:31
- Start Empower Sync again.
- You can try launching it normally first.
- If needed, go directly to the executable:
C:\Users\<your username>\AppData\Local\Programs\Empower\Sync\- Run
Empower Sync.exe
- Running it as Administrator can help ensure it starts correctly.
4. Sign in with the new account 2:19
- Once Empower Sync starts, it should appear in the system tray.
- The login screen should appear.
- Enter the credentials for the new user account.
- If only one option appears and it is not correct, use the back arrow to return and choose the right login path.
5. Confirm the sync completes successfully 2:59
- After logging in, let the sync run.
- Open the sync window and check for your initials or user indicator.
- If your initials do not appear, click Manual Sync to force it to run.
- Once the sync finishes and your initials appear, the session is active and working correctly.
