Creating videos

There is no 'best' format necessarily for recording videos, so use what you are comfortable with. Loom is great as you can both record and host the content (and also import other videos too). The advantage over hosting our content in YouTube is that there are no adverts on Loom. It is also good for creating thumbnail images as well, so your video links can have a strong visual thumbnail as the link.

Create a thumbnail image to your video in Loom

1. The best way to do this is to create a cover image and include white circle with a curved black 'play' triangle (made of objects and icons)
2. Copy the slide and paste as an image
3. Save the image as a PNG - ensure it is below 2000kb

Add the thumbnail to your video

1. Go to More  - Settings - Video Thumbnail and load the image

Copy the thumbnail code

1. Go to Share  - Embed and click on 'Copy thumbnail code'

Add your video to the article

1. Go to Insert - embed and paste the thumbnail code
2. Delete the line that adds a strange heading above the video, e.g.       <p>Setting Up Your Empower Options and Defaults - Watch Video</p>
3. Click insert
