(PC) ## The empower® Removal Tool removes all components that have been installed or added with empower®. The empower® Removal Tool can be used to remove empower® completely and should be used in troubleshooting scenarios where a simple uninstall using Windows - Installed Apps option hasn't worked. ##### What it does - All installer and uninstaller information is removed from the Windows Registry and the Windows Package Cache and all program installation folders are removed. - The add-ins are removed and the integration is removed from Microsoft, start menus and auto-start entries. - All user-specific file-based caches, configurations and log files of empower® are removed. - All product-specific entries in the registry hive are removed, this includes all entries under HKLM as well as all user hives and entries located under HKU.DEFAULT. - All COM class registrations for the add-in entry point are removed. ##### How to use it - Close all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel PowerPoint and Outlook). - Make sure you have admin permissions on the device. - Download the empower® Removal Tool by clicking **[HERE.](https://empower.express/hubfs/empower%20removal%20tool/empowerRemovalTool.zip?hsLang=en)** **To run the tool, follow the following steps:** - Download the tool from the linked source above and extract the .zip folder. The unzipped folder contains the file **empowerRemovalTool.CLI.exe.** - Double-click on the file empowerRemovalTool.CLI.exe. - The tool will then remove empower® from your device. - When the tool has finished the process, it produces a return code: - 0 = The removal has been successful. - 7 = Office is still running.
